Frank E. Nute, MS, CFE, CPA, CFF, CGMA, CDFA™ is the Owner of RTI Solutions, a Minneapolis tax resolution company that focuses on helping businesses and individuals resolve their tax matters with the IRS and state taxing authorities. Frank is most passionate about bringing clarity to his clients and helping them understand their tax and financial issues, showing them possible solutions, and working with them to find a resolution.
Frank has experience representing taxpayers before the IRS on audits, unfiled taxes, payroll taxes, liens, levies, and more. Additionally, he has successfully negotiated installment agreements and offers in compromise, as well as provided expert testimony in the courtroom regarding work performed on marital dissolutions. Currently, he offers myriad services in the following areas: Offers in Compromise, Wage Garnishment, Bankruptcy, Delinquent Tax Returns, IRS Bank Levies, Installment Agreements, Payroll Tax, IRS Audits, Penalty Abatement, Liens, Innocent Spouse, and Collection Appeals.
Some of his most recent projects include:
- Client going through divorce sought assistance on 6 years of unfiled tax returns; how to file, when to file, IRS representation.
- Divorced client received notice from IRS—unreported income of over $100,000. The client’s ex-husband had issued a 1099 for spousal maintenance payments made to her. Represented client in discussions with the IRS and eliminated claim for unreported income.
- Client shut down his business due to cash flow problems. The client had used payroll taxes to fund his company. Several years of unfiled returns and unpaid payroll taxes. Represented client with IRS and negotiated settlement of 1/3 of tax debt.
Frank is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants—Tax, Forensic Valuation Services and Financial Planning Sections (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and the Minnesota Society of CPA’s. He has also presented at events, including Speaker at New Business Minnesota on the topic of Hiring Your First Employee and Organizer & Speaker on Financial Issues of Divorce at Second Saturday Divorce Workshop in Minneapolis, MN.
Frank earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Management from the University of California, Davis and his Master of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning Emphasis from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. He is an outdoor enthusiast, so when he’s not working, he enjoys biking and hiking. When possible, he even brings his four-legged dog friends with him. Whether it is swimming in a lake or running through the snow, he believes it’s great to be outdoors!
